Daphe is unique, she is the beauty of nature.

The log had floated onto a beach; even from a distance is it had the feeling of a nude. Daphe (Greek Myth) a nymph who transformed herself into a laurel tree to escape the amorous Apollo. Homage to the Hellenistic nudes with their gossamer use of drapery. The figure is naked but still covered. I like the layered morphing from tree to figure. It seems that our mind accumulates the changed state, but never entirely. The original tree is still imbued in the sculpture.
